heard they had gone outside Woosung.

Do you know where Sinnecker is now?

Do you know if Sinnecker left at the same time as the rifles

did? I don't know.

Mr Newman:

This closes the case for the prosecution.

Prisoners make statement.

The prisoners Tsoong Ling-yi and Woo Zaung-kwang

then made statements of their part in the deal.

Det.Sergt. Givens gave evidence of arresting these

two defendants. He said on the 9th inst. he was on business

in Honan Road when he saw Woo coming out of No.10.

approached witness and asked him if he was there to buy "cargo",

witness replied yes and that he wanted 15,000 piouls.

Witness invited Woo to go and see his principal, to which Woo

agreed. Woo asked witness when the rifles would be wanted,

and witness replied tomorrow as his principal, whom he gave as 2

Chinese, required them for the attack on the Kiangnan Arsenal.

They went along Honan Road and witness took Woo into custody.

Too made a statement in which he mentioned Pereira as his

principal.

Pereira lived at No.4 Yuhang Road. As a result

of this statement, witness arrested the other prisoner in

Chapei.
